Posted by msjjohnson on March 12, 2008

This is a new experience for our class. I’ve decided to try something new with homework and class discussions.  I will give everyone a handout about rules and expectations for blogging on this site to have handy at all times; however, I will list them here as well:

  • No profanity
  • Insults are not allowed
  • Formal language is expected
  • Respond to blogs by deadline

If I think of anything else, I will make it a point to let you know. Of course, your feedback is needed as welll.

Enjoy and have fun with this new experience!

In Romeo and Juliet fate has brought these two together. Certain events or things that happen in this book lead to the fate of Romeo and Juliet being together. Fate plays in favor of Romeo and Juliet being together. For example, in the story the Capulets were planning to have a party, it just so happened that Peter whose job was to deliver the invitations could not read. Romeo then runs into Peter and helps him by reading the names of the invites. Romeo sees that Rosaline will be at the party, so he takes it upon himself to go to the Capulets party and find Rosaline. At the party though, Romeo falls in love with Juliet forgetting about Rosaline. If Romeo had not ran into Peter he wouldn’t have attended the ball and met Juliet. This is just one example of fate in Romeo and Juliet.

In Romeo and Juliet fate has brought these two together. Romeo and Juliet are doomed to be in love. When Romeo discovers who Juliet is, he says to himself, “O dear account! My life is my foe’s debt”. Despite the fact that they were born into feuding families, Romeo can’t help but love Juliet because he already loves her before he finds out that she’s really a Capulet. Therefore, it is fate… that he loves Juliet even if it is forbidden. So, when Juliet finds out from the nurse that Romeo is a Montague, she says, “My love sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me That I must love a loathed enemy”. Since Juliet could not see before that Romeo is an enemy to the family, by fate, she begins to love him unconditionally. However, when she finds that her true love is also her true enemy, it is too late for her to hate Romeo because she fell in love eith him at first
    sight.

In Romeo and Juliet fate has brought them together. One example of this is because at the beginning of the book he was heart by Rosaline. Then his cousin Benevolio tried to find something to get her off Romeo’s mind.
He was sad and depressed about the whole situation between them, and Benevolio thought it was all his fault about why Romeo was acting the way he was. However, he then met Peter which was the deliverer of the invitations to the Capulet’s party. Then at the party Romeo sees Juliet and falls in love with her, but he then forgets all about Rosaline. I think fate brought these two together because if Romeo and his cousin didn’t meet Peter than Romeo and Juliet would have never met and the book would all be different. That’s why fate brought Romeo and Juliet togther.

In Romeo an Juliet I strongly believe that fate has brought them together. In the mist of it all Romeo is depressed an is heart broken. He is madly in love with Rosaline at first, but then he seen Juliet an is in lust. He wants to know everything about her.He even quotes ” If I profane with my unworthiest hand This holy shrine, the gentle sin is this: My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.” He wants to kiss her at that very moment. This shows that what he wants to do to her just by seeing her features. Romeo is not in love with Juliet at this time but he is in lust he is only fasinated with her beaty.

In Romeo and Juliet fate has brought both lovers together despite what they think of each other. Many things and events happen in this book that lead to the fate of Romeo and Juliet being together. Even though Romeo is a sworn enemy to his family she still loves him. For example, the servants of the rival family were passing out invitations to the Capulets ball. Romeo runs into Peter who’s job was to pass out the invitations and found out he could’nt read so Romeo helps him pass out the invitations and could’nt help but to see Rosaline name on one of the invitations so he decides to go to the Capulets Ball which he is not allowed at. At the party he saw Juliet forgeting about Rosaline he falls in love with her at first sight. If Romeo did’nt read the invitations for Peter he would’nt have attended the party nor fallen in love with Juliet.
